Our family has owned the farmland and hillsides that grow the grapes for generations. The high elevation, the cool temperatures and the eastern and southern aspects of the slopes in Eastern Pennsylvania make an ideal location for the cold climate grapes of northern Europe.
The love of wine and the appeal of wine country enticed us to plant grapes on the higher and steeper hillsides of the family farm.
We purchased an additional 35 acres of land on the hills outside Kutztown and built a gravity flow winery on the property. A gravity flow winery allows us to pump the wine less frequently, which in turn minimizes the amount of oxygen the wine comes in contact with.
We currently have 23 acres of vines planted in 10 different varietals, with more acres left for a possibility of more wines.
Our view overlooks the Blue Mountains as well as a sloping vineyard. It’s always a perfect day for a picnic on our lawn!
